The highland places of Luzon are found in Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) which includes the province of Abra, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mountain Province and Apayao.  Baguio City is the regional center.  You can found in this area the largest mountain ranges in the country.

 

Another highland places are found in the Northwestern part of Luzon Island called the Sierra Madre Mountains.  Here you can found the longest mountain ranges in the country. The range stretches from Quezon Province to Isabela.  This range serve as a western wall of Luzon against tropical cyclones coming from the Pacific Ocean.
