Percentage is not the one that had the percent sign (%) it's the rate.
In finding the percentage... Multiply the base and the rate.
ex. A toy store was on sale. All of the toys there are in discount of 30%. A toy that costs 70.00 will be on_______.
$70.00 =============================> BASE
30%==============================>RATE
??===============================>PERCENTAGE
First make the rate into decimal.... just remove the percent sign and place a decimal point 2 moves from the left.... 30%=0.30
then multiply the base and rate.... 70.00 x 0.30= 21.00
remove the two zeros become ... 21
that's the answer $21
