HUMAN RIGHTS
Human rights are universal and inalienable, meaning they are inherent to all human beings and cannot be taken away or surrendered. They are derived from the inherent dignity and worth of every person, as well as from the principles of equality and non-discrimination. Human rights are not granted or conferred by governments or other entities, but are inherent to every individual by virtue of being human.
The concept of human rights is rooted in various philosophical, religious, and ethical traditions that have evolved over time. In modern times, the foundation for human rights is laid out in several key international human rights instruments, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR).
These instruments were developed and adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, representing the international community as a whole. They aim to promote and protect the rights of all individuals, regardless of their nationality, place of residence, gender, national or ethnic origin, color, religion, language, or any other status.
