Sagot :

Answer:

The objects we could visualize when singing or reading the song "Common Ground" by Kodaline is the bible as a symbolism of religious beliefs and a stairway as a symbolism of our dream or goal of achieving something.

Explanation:

Important Points to Ponder

  1. The first stanza of the song suggest that human normally commit mistakes; it is the human in us and the best thing that we can do about it is to admit whenever we commit wrongs. Being proud may lead to something not good, and it will not be helpful in any situation.
  2. "People will tell you what you want to hear. but those who know you well can make it all clear". This line suggests that we should not be deceived by what people around us show. They may show and tell us what they think we want to hear from them only to keep close to us, especially if they have their own motives toward us. But those who really care for us will tell us directly what we need to know, even if it means hurting our feelings and ego because of the reason that they think that is the right thing to do.
  3. "Sure we all be forgotten and we all fall apart". This line suggests that no matter how famous and how powerful a person can be, life is a wheel and full of challenges, fame can be fade away, power can be lost that is why it is very important to establish a common ground - which may be our family, colleagues  or circle of friends who have a common belief, dreams, and aspirations as yours to bring you up whenever you are down.

The Song Meaning

  • The song visualizes the beauty of looking at the brighter side of any situation we are in, rather than looking at the negative side.
  • It’s all about taking in experience positively (optimism), may it be good or bad.
  • The song suggests that,  the lesson we have learned from our experiences and mistakes is what matters most and that whatever situation we are in is essential to nurture our learning about life.
  • Common ground for me is the place of the start and the start of fresh beginnings and the start that we all came from; our origin.

Reflection

I agree with the thought presented in the song "Common Ground" because for me it is realistic. In a way that, I personally experience the hardships in life, how difficult it is to try your best to prove yourself to something or someone. But at the end of the day, it is only ourself that matte. rs, the toxic people has nothing to do with our lives so they should not be given of great importance. If they choose to forget about the good things you have done at least you have yourself to console the loss that is why it is necessary that you have established something personal for yourself. By the time things are falling into pieces, you have something to start on.
