Sphere of Influence
- In international relations, sphere of influence refers to a country's cultural, economic, military, or political rule or influence in areas outside its borders, in addition to controlling the sovereignty of the region. Although this influence can be formally signed through a treaty or agreement, in many cases it is an informal influence based on the soft power of the country.
- Influence is usually an example of soft power. Likewise, a formal alliance does not necessarily mean that one country is affected by another country. Historically, a high degree of monopoly is related to a higher conflict.
- In a more serious situation, a country may become a dependent country of another country within its "sphere of influence," in fact, acting as a true satellite or colony. The sphere of influence system in which powerful countries interfere in the affairs of other countries continues to this day. It is often analyzed in terms of superpowers, large powers or medium powers.
