meiosis is divided into two division, the meiosis 1 and 2...
meiosis 1 is divided into 4, the prophase 1, metaphase 1, anaphase 1 and telophase 1 while meiosis 2 is divided into 4 also, prophase 2, metaphase 2, anaphase 2, and telophase 2. 

in prophase 1, chromosomes duplicate and the crossing over of genetic materials
in metaphase 1, chromose pair up in the metaphase plate
in anaphase 1, homologous pairs separate to opposite poles,
in telophase 1, the spindle fibers disintegrate... then interkinesis (rest)
then prophase 2, nuclear envelope disintegrate, in metaphase 2, they are in the metaphase plate, in anaphase 2, they separate to opposite poles and in telophase 2, the formation of cleavage  furrow
