No, calling an ambulance does not mean calling the police. When we are calling for ambulance, we are calling for a hospital to help us. Once ambulance reaches the area of the caller, the patient will be putted at the back of an ambulance along with his/her loved ones. The nurses/doctors will perform first aid to the patient if needed.

Hotline numbers of the police and ambulance are different. For example, the mobile hotline of Philippine National Police or PNP is  0917 847 5757 while the telephone hotline of Metro Care Ambulance Service is 02 274 9088.

So in case of emergencies, it is important to save the hotline number of your local police station, fire station, ambulance, etc.
