Invisible Foes by Allan de Silva Eliana is a girl who loves playing in her mother's garden She digs up the soil in each pot until the plants are uprooted Her mother keeps on telling her not to do it, but she never listens After playing with soil, she eats her snacks without washing her hands "Ell, I told you to wash your hands every time you play with dirt, especially before eating," her mother keeps on reminding her. "There are lots of invisible foes in the dirt." "Okay," was her usual response. One day, after playing, she hurriedly ate her snacks without washing her hands. She has forgotten her mother's reminder once again When nighttime came, Eliana suddenly felt her stomach aching Her mother rushed her to the hospital. Apparently, some bacteria had entered her body that caused her tummy ache. The doctor gave her medicine so she can feel better From then on, she has learned her lesson to always wash her hands especially before eating.
