The altitude or what they say as height above sea level and temperature, the measure of heat, they are inversely proportional. What does that mean? You can just say: the higher the altitude, the lesser the heat, or the higher the altitude, the colder it is. Places with higher altitudes for example, are mountains. You have seen the Mount Everest right? When you look at its base, it has no snow, but as you reach the top, it gets colder and it snows. It is because Mount Everest is tall, and because it is tall, its altitude is high, and if its altitude is high, its temperature is lower so it is cold and it snows.
