Parallel lines are lines that NEVER EVER intersect, even if the lines will go on, they will not intersect each other. Or just think that they will never touch each other.
Example:

   Line 2:   ____________        

Perpendicular lines are lines that intersect each other. The only difference is that their intersections makes a 90 degree angle or a right angle.
