What is the answer to this problem? :
2x -y = 1
4x -2y = 2
It is a problem in the Systems of Linear equations in Two Variables and their graphs.

Sagot :

First find their values
4x-2y=2 can be divided by 2
=2x-y=1, which is the same as the given first equation. Then set up a table of values which can help you graph.

Lets say:
x=-2,-1,0,1,2

Substitute each x value to y
2(-2)-y=1
-4-y=1
-y=5
y=-5

2(-1)-y=1
-2-y=1
-y=3
y=-3

2(0)-y=1
-y=1
y=-1

2(1)-y=1
2-y=1
-y=-1
y=1

2(2)-y=1
4-y=1
-y=-3
y=3

Now, make the coordinates
(-2,-5),(-1,-3),(0,-1),(1,1)(2,3)

Now graph this, remember: this forms a straight line because its linear. Just connect the points and that's the graph

Hope this helps =)
