For benjie:

3/4 will be 0.75 or maybe we can write it as 75 to get rid of decimal

So it will 75/10

While Irwin:

1/2 will be 0.50 or just 50

So it will be 50/10

Now lets solve and compare:

75/10 = 7.5

while

50/10 = 5

7.5 > 5

As you can see 7.5 is higher and that means Benjie bikes more kilometer than Irwin meaning that he was faster.
