The premise
that the countries of Japan, Philippines, and China have many examples of oral
literature can be readily agreed upon. Given the rich cultural and literary
traditions of the three countries, it is possible, and even common, to note
that there exists oral literatures, which are stories, legends, and poems that
were transferred and shared from one generation to the other through tongue.
