MDAS stands for (Multiplication, Division)(Addition,subtraction)
When you see a problem, always look for terms with multiplication or division first then do it from left to right.
For example:
9+9÷3-1×5
*Group first the tems with the operations division and multiplication.
9+(9÷3)-(1×5)
*Answer what's inside the parenthesis.
9+3-5
*Answer what's left

This is how I understand your question
[tex]4+(11*5/10)-20= 4+(55/10)-20=4+5.5-20=9.5-20[/tex]
[tex]9.5-20=-10.5[/tex]

In MDAS it's simply following the sequence, do the multiplication and division first then the addition and subtraction
