King Hrothghar had the problem of losing his soldiers, whenever the stay at the Herot, a great hall for soldiers, to the monster named Grendel.
Beowulf had volunteered to kill the monster for King Hrothghar. Beowulf gathered his men and went to Herot. Grendel, being the greedy monster that he is immediately felt the presence of the men and went to Herot to feed.
Grendel clawed Beowulf but was surprised for Beowulf was strong. Grendel felt fear and with it wanted to flee. The battle continued, both showing how strong each other is. Other men were scared to interfere but in the end, Beowulf achieved victory over Grendel.
