Let's Try This
Get ready for a little experiment that will help us understand the universe and its
behavior. Prepare a pen, a string and ruler or tape measure, and a balloon. Get the balloon
and partially inflate it. You can use a balloon pump if you have it at home or you can simply
blow it. Using a marker, draw a star at the top of the balloon to represent your home planet.
After it, draw a heart, a circle, a square, and a triangle scattered around the balloon which
represents the other galaxies of the universe. Using the string and ruler, measure the
following distances: star to heart, star to circle, tringle to square, and circle to heart. Write it
down on the table along the "Initial Distance" (A).
