I think my idea of self is kinda like what Aquinas thought, but not exactly. We both agree that there's more to a person than just their body, which is cool. But Aquinas was all about the body and soul being separate things, and I'm not so sure about that. For me, it's more like my thoughts, feelings, and experiences all mix together to make me who I am. I don't really buy into the whole immortal soul thing either - that's a bit too religious for me. I guess I'm more into the psychology stuff we learned in class. Like, I know my mood can affect how my body feels, so they seem pretty connected to me. Aquinas was big on God and all that, but I'm not really, so that's another difference. Still, I can see why his ideas were a big deal back then, even if they don't totally fit with how I see things now.
