District Press Conference Showcases Writing Talents of Quirino Schools
In a bid to celebrate and recognize the exceptional writing prowess of students, the District Press Conference was held at Villa Cacho Integrated School in Santiago, Quirino, Isabela on March 11, 2023.
The event was graced by esteemed figures in the educational field, including the Public Schools District Supervisor, Dr. Debbie S. Lasam, and the host Principal of Villa Cacho Integrated School, Dr. Sonny T. Dalit. Notably, other Principals from various Elementary and High Schools in Quirino attended the press conference, emphasizing the collaborative effort to promote writing excellence among students.
A diverse range of writing activities in both English and Filipino languages were contested, covering News Writing, Editorial Writing, Feature Writing, Science and Health Writing, Copy Editing, Headline Writing, Photojournalism, and Column Writing. These competitions aimed to showcase the creative and analytical skills of the students.
The primary objective of the conference was to identify the most talented writers who would represent the district in the legislative district 5 press conference. To ensure fairness and impartial judgment, the board of judges and facilitators were selected from secondary school teachers within the Quirino district.
While there were five winners for each writing contest, only two participants per category would advance to compete in the legislative district 5 press conference. To prepare the winners for the upcoming competition, specialized training sessions will be organized to enhance their skills and increase their chances of securing top honors in the next press conference.
