Clean them as quickly as possible: the dirtier they get, the more difficult they are to clean. Begin by brushing or wiping away any dirt that has accumulated during use. To get into all of the narrow areas, use a brush or another soft cleaning tool.
After that, wash with water and mild soap. Avoid using harsh chemicals because they might be harmful and make them unsafe to use.
Finally, keep your instruments clean by rinsing them and drying them. Brush rusted industrial crank handles with a brush dipped in cleaning fluid to clean them. After that, wipe down your tools with a dry cloth.
