there are three groups of consumers herbivores(eat only plants), omnivores(both plants and animals) and carnivores(eat animals)..... producers are plants because they can produce their own food...

without producers , will consumers still survive? in terms of eating ... i think the carnivores and omnivores can survive since they can eat animals.... but generally  we cannot survive without plants which are the producers since animals cannot survive without the presence of oxygen which plants release

Although there are consumers which are classified as carnivores and omnivores still in general consumers could not stay alive without the producers because the animals that serve as source of there food are also depending on other animals which might be herbivores so the food source will cease to exist, all organisms will be affected
