SIMILE- A simile is a comparison between two things that uses the word like or as: Her smile is as bright as sunshine.
METHAPOR - A metaphor is a direct comparison between two things that does not use like or as: Her smile is sunshine.
ANALOGY - For example, “Life is a box of chocolates.” An analogy is saying something is like something else to make some sort of explanatory point. For example, “life is like a box of chocolate you never know what you're gonna get.” You can use metaphors and similes when creating an analogy.
