Eucharist, the Real Presence of the Body and Blood is spiritual meal that was given to us by Jesus Christ to not nourish us physically but to provide us ever lasting life. Where the meals that we consume everyday is destined to nourish us physically so we can maintain our earthly life. Although the Eucharist is not an ordinary meal, it got its beginnings from an ordinary meal.

What meal? The Passover Meal that is first mentioned in the Old Testament. The feast that God’s chosen people, the Jewish people, ate the night before their deliverance out of Egypt. During that that dreadful night every first born son in Egypt perished except those Israelite families where a lamb was slain and eaten as a substitutionary sacrifice.
