1. Examples of the body/skin protection include laboratory coats, coveralls, vests, jackets, aprons, surgical gowns and full body suits. Uniforms, caps, or other clothing worn solely to identify a person as an employee would not be considered PPE.
2. PPE used in healthcare includes gloves, aprons, long sleeved gowns, goggles, fluid-repellant surgical masks, face visors and respirator masks. The initial risk assessment of whether or not PPE is required is based on the level of risk of transmission to and from the patient.
