  • In Goodbyes and Grief in Real Time, the man told the social media what was happening to his mother  and how he began revealing it to social media as if to reveal it to the world at large.  Although it has the same way of announcing in  the Lottery, it just has that it is not online.  Another similarity is that people  respond to what the person said

Differences are:

  • They were held at different times. The plot of the two stories is quite similar but not exactly the same (Tessie  Hutchinson's death in the Lottery, while the man's mother in Goodbyes and Grief in Real Time)
