1.All newborns require essential newborn care to minimize the risk of illness and maximize their growth and development. Warmth, normal breathing, mother's milk, and prevention of infection are the basic needs of normal baby at birth. These basic needs indicate that a baby's survival is totally dependent upon her mother and other caregivers. Therefore it is important to provide proper care to all the neonates immediately after birth. This care will also prevent many newborn emergencies. They should be assessed for birth weight, gestational age, congenital defects and signs of newborn illness. Special care should be provided for sick newborns, those who are preterm and/or low birth weight, and those who are exposed or infected by HIV or have congenital syphilis.
2.In a typical Filipino family the father is the pillar of the home. He is the breadwinner, protector, provider, disciplinarian, the author ity, does the home repair and leader of the family.
The mother is the “light of the family”. She takes care of the husband, children , home and household chores. Together they help hand in hand to keep the family, raise the children, teach them values and the culture of which they belong and provide the basic needs like food, shelter and clothing. They also give love to all it's member and promote their welfare. The mother and father are the role model of the children.
