1. A Godly family serves
Parents should leave by example. When you love and serve God, your family will follow suit. King Jesus admonished us to serve, follow and honor God in John 12:25-26.
2. A Godly family seeks God
Like the popular saying: A family that prays together stays together.
Together as a family, when you seek God's face, then you will grow and please God together. "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:33-34
3. A Godly family speaks truth
Leadership, they say, is by example.
That moment you tell a lie in the presence of your child(ren), you are indirectly teaching them to lie. When you tell a lie, the children will emulate and speak false too. Irrespective of the situation, always speak the truth and encourage your family to speak nothing, but the truth always.
Proverbs 27:5 "Better is open rebuke than hidden love."
4. A Godly family shows unconditional love
Marriage is an eye-opener. However, love is unconditional. Let your children grow in love and not in hatred or neglect. Make efforts to raise children that need not to recover from emotional lack in future. 1 Peter 4:8
5. A Godly family stays humble
Often times, children tends to display what they see. Therefore as a parent or carer, we need to be humble because "God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” James 4:6
The Almighty God will be gracious to our family when we are genuinely humble.
