Politics and the belief of religion, in my opinion, should always be separated as both are different aspects of society and both are different in a lot of ways. As religion talks about or celebrates the common beliefs that we have; believing that such supernatural being, or a God exists, celebrating holidays, which relates to saints, or in other religions, their own gods and goddesses. Politics mainly focuses on the public servants which we voted for, and elected to run and keep the orderliness of either a city, a region, or the whole country.  

Despite the fact that they use their power to achieve their goals or advocate for their causes, they serve a distinct function in our society and therefore should not be compared or they should be separated from each other.
