how will you measure the following?
1. refined sugar
2. oil
3. butter
4. brown sugar
5. flour

Sagot :

1. Refined Sugar

Unlike flour, sugar is measured by scooping the measuring cup or spoon into the container/bag until it is overflowing, then leveling it off with the back of a knife. Sugar is heavier than flour, so it's less likely to pack down into the measuring cup.

2. Oil

Oil production is measured and reported in barrels, or “bbl.” Production rates are typically reported in terms of barrels per day, which may be abbreviated in several different ways, including bpd, b/d and bbl/d.

3. Butter

The whole block is equal to two cups of butter. So now each half is one cup of butter. Cut it in half again into four sticks then each step is a half a cup of butter.

4. Brown Sugar

How to Measure Brown Sugar. Brown sugar is measured a little differently. Pack brown sugar firmly into a dry measuring cup with a back of a spoon until it is level with the rim of the cup. Brown sugar should hold the shape of the measuring cup when it is turned out.

5. Flour

  • First, fluff up the flour in the bag or canister. Flour settles easily, becoming tightly packed inside a bag or jar.
  • Second, spoon the flour into the measuring cup.
  • Then, scrape a knife across the top of the measuring cup to level the flour.
