no doing good cannot avoid you from hell.if thats true then why did Jesus died on the cross,Jesus died on the cross and take the punishment for our sins to be forgiven.the bible says in john 14:6 that Jesus is the way the truth and the life,no one can come to the Father(God) but by Him(Jesus).You can't go to heaven by good works but by Jesus the perfect son of God.He gave his life for you he is perfect,He never had sin but because God loves us He gave his son for you.The only way to be able to avoid Hell is not by good works but by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ and obeying what's God want's in your life and turning back from your sin's.For you to be able to learn more about this read the word of God(BIBLE).I HOPE THAT I HELP YOU.

Doing good can save you from hell but you also have to believe in Him in God because having Him by your side is really a great feeling. God will be happy if you are doing good because every good deed you do especially to other is like your doing it also in Him.
