Xie He, also known as Hsieh Ho established the six principles of Chinese painting, which are:
1. Spirit Resonance (vitality).
2. Bone Method (the way of using the brush).
3. Correspondence to the Object (form: shape and line).
4. Suitability to type (color, tone, layers, value).
5. Division and Panning (arrangement: composition, line, shape).
6. Transmission by Copying (copying of models).
