Story #1 An elderly carpenter told his employer-contractor that he was ready to retire. Because of his contribution, the rich contractor was sorry to see his worker go. But eventually, he yielded but asked if this carpenter could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but over time it was easy to see that his heart was no longer in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. The house was considered as the worst of all that he had built before. It was an unfortunate way to end a dedicated career. When the carpenter finished his work, his employer-contractor came to inspect the house. During some point of the journey they had an argument and Pedro slapped Juan in the face. Naturally, Juan was hurt but without saying anything, he wrote in the sand “TODAY MY BESTFRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE.” They kept walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. Suddenly, Juan got stuck in the mire and startled drowning, but immediately Pedro extended his hands and saved him. After Juan recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone “TODAY MY BESTFRIEND SAVED MY LIFE.” Curiously, Pedro asked him, “After I hurt you, you wrote it in the sand, and now, you wrote it on a stone, why?” Juan replied: “When someone hurts us, we should write it down in sand and where winds of forgiveness can erase it away.
