Poetic justice is a literary device that rewards virtue and punishes vice. In the story of Arachne, the use of poetic justice is indeed effective because it presented a more emotionally wrenching effect to the readers because of the sad scenario wherein she became a spider because of her arrogance. It also enhances the plot and twist of the story making it more appealing to the readers due to the punishment that somehow open the eyes of the readers to be good in order not to experience the misfortune that happened to Arachne.
