Earth’s inner core is primarily composed of metals iron (Fe) and nickel (Ni).
The information is based on the mechanism how the solar system formed and
how terrestrial planets and jovian planets underwent the process of
differentiation. When the primitive Earth underwent this process, denser materials like metals sank towards the center while leaving the lesser denser materials like lighter metals and silicates on the outer layers.
Inner core was discovered in 1936 by a seismologist Inge Lehmann after studying seismic waves
passing through the Earth.
