Food coloring is also called as color additive. It comes in a form of liquid, powder, gel or paste. It adds and enhances the color of a food or a drink. Because of its availability and safety, it is commonly use in domestic cooking and non-food applications like cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, home crafts and medical devices. Color additives aim to simulate a color that is perceived by the consumer as natural but sometimes, they offset colors specially when exposed to direct sunlight.
