Arachne deserves her punishment because of being ungrateful and overly proud of her talents and skills. Human as we are, we should not forget that we do not own anything in this world, not even our bodies. There is nothing in this world that is ours. Whatever we have right now is given by God and we should be thankful about it. Instead of bragging and becoming selfish, it is best to share our talents and skills for the greater glory of God. Everything in this world is borrowed including our life so we have no reason to be overly confident of whatever we have achieved because it is not ours.
