               Fely had 3/4 m of abaca cloth. She used 2/3 m for one placemat. What part of abaca is left?

Here is the solution:
       there are 3 steps in subtracting:
              
       Find the LCD.      Rename the fraction to           SUBTRACT! Write the 
            3/4             equivalent fraction using       difference in lowest term.
          -                  LCD.                                       3/4 = 9/12
  _____2/3_____   3/4=3/4 x 3/3= 9/12                  -2/3 = 8/12
     LCD=12          -2/3=2/3 x 4/4= 8/12                           1/12
