The mood of the story Orpheus is sad. It is sad because Arachne was cursed into a spider that weaves and spins for the rest of her life. She was cursed because of being ungrateful and boastful of her talent in weaving or spinning. She believed too much of herself and she failed to acknowledge that she/he owns nothing because everything is owned by God. There is much bigger source of all the gifts and blessings in life that we should be thankful for and that's what Arachne fails to acknowledgge.
