EDIT. I think technology came first before science.
Technology is anything that has been designed to solve problems and to make tasks easier. Archeologists have found evidences that proved that the primitive man used stone tools and such. Back then science, a systematic body of knowledge, doesn't even exist yet. Science exists because people have the same knowledge and understanding about how almost everything work.
