Because faith and reason should never be separated. Although there are things that can be answered by faith or reason alone. To understand things we should be able to open our minds and consider the reasons for things happening. Genesis was never an accurate way of timeline on how the world or the universe began and the bible can be read symbolically which means it should not be read literally. Now even the big bang theory was formulated by a priest. Thus the conflict of science and religion was created by some ignorant atheists.
