A. Wage Rationalization Act

R.A. 6727, otherwise known as the "Wage Rationalization Act", was enacted into law in 1989 in order to address such a situation at the time as well as similar situations that may arise since then. It was intended to rationalize the fixing of wages and the improvement of productivity throughout the country.

B.Holiday pay is any form of alternative compensation an employer offers employees during holidays. It may take the form of fully or partially paid time off or of a bonus or additional hourly pay for work performed on a holiday

C.Premium pay refers to the additional compensation for work performed within eight (8) hours on non-work days, such as rest days and special days.

D.Night shift differential pay is an additional pay for work between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. the following day. It is a legally mandated benefit. Covered employees are entitled. Computation requires determining hourly rate.

G.Service incentive leave is a leave benefit with pay for employees who have rendered at least one year of service. Under the present law, eligible employees are entitled to a yearly service incentive leave of at least five days, which may be converted to cash if unused.
