Violin  

  • String Instrument family's highest duration member. It has a shallow wooden body and four strings which are tuned  to a bow.  

Saxophone

  • A wind instrument made from a single reed brass and a curved conical tube. The pitches are controlled  by keys on the body. It is named after its inventor, Adolphe Sax.

Piccolo

  • A small flute that sounds more like an octave than a regular flute.It is named after the Italian word for "little "- short for flauto piccolo, or small flute.

Oboe

  • A woodwind instrument made of a conical tube with a double reed stuck in the top. Sound is made by blowing a  double reed. The pitch is modified by opening and closing holes on the sides of the instrument.

Harp

  • This string instrument dates back to prehistoric times. The modern harp has a large triangular frame with chains  stretched vertically across the triangle.The strings are graduated in length from the longest / lowest pitch to the shortest / highest, and there are pedals that can be used to increase the pitch of each string by half a step.  The sound is made by plucking the strings of the finger.
