King Minos thought that it would be so much better if Daedalus could not find his way out of the labyrinth because he was the one who helped Queen Pasiphae, King Minos' wife, mate with his most prized bull that was given to him by Poseidon. Meaning, King Minos wanted Daedalus to be trapped in the labyrinth forever out of anger and also out of fear that Daedalus will spread the truth about the origin of the creature in the labyrinth, that it was actually Queen Pasiphae's son.

What is the Story Behind the White Bull?
- Because of his many victories, King Minos asked Poseidon, the God of Seas, to give him something to sacrifice. In another version, prior to his ascension to the throne, he had asked Poseidon to give him a sign that he was an appropriate leader. The God of the Sea had given him a white bull for Minos to sacrifice. But instead of sacrificing the white bull, he replaced it with a different one which angered Poseidon. The God had asked Aphrodite to make Queen Pasiphae fall in love with the white bull as punishment for King Minos' defiance. Surely enough, the queen fell in love with the white bull and wanted to seduce it. She asked Daedalus to help her find a way to mate with the white bull in which the skillful inventor obliged. This union bore a half-bull half-human son named Asterius who only feasts on human blood.
The Labyrinth
- King Minos found out about this and ordered Daedalus to create the labyrinth so that the Minotaur can be imprisoned within. The labyrinth was so complicated that it was almost impossible to escape from. After finishing the labyrinth, King Minos had Daedalus and Icarus trapped within it as well. However, Daedalus and his son still managed to escape from the labyrinth through wings made out of wax.
