Jesus tells his disciples that in the world, rulers make their position felt. Those in the position of power are held upon a pedestal. But Jesus told them, “it shall not be so among you. Whoever wishes to be great among you shall be your servant; whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave.”
He is explaining to his disciples how it is in the spiritual world, not how it is on earth. When this passage is reflected upon I think that often times people get the impression that in heaven the poor will serve the rich or the downtrodden will be raised to greater heights that Kings.
