Is known as an experimental process wherein the students or any individual can come into direct contact and become involved in the affairs of the community.

A Community immersion allows a volunteer individual to get involved and worked towards their chosen community, which makes them grow and teaches them the importance of life, connection, and understanding with the people around them.

These are some of the Purposes of having a Community Immersion:

  • It helps anyone in the learning of academic content
  • It makes the volunteer exposed and understand cultural situations.

Here are some of the ways to participate in a Community Immersion:

Any individual/ student dedicated to participating in an Immersion can choose between the two: Residency or Field.

  • RESIDENCY PROGRAM, this is a kind of immersion in which the student or individual will be directly involved in the place they lived. They will personally involve their self in working in a community and take courses for a specified period of time.
  • FIELD EXPERIENCE-BASED PROGRAM, most of the time this is a type of immersion where the volunteer goes to different areas outside of its usual community, such as schools and some summer activities exposure. This will help the volunteer explore and learn about the community and intern with community agencies.
