For me, art has a function as a means of supporting life. This is because in my daily activities I enjoy the results of art such as music, as well as paintings or drawings that I can view offline or online.
The functions of art in social life include:
- As a medium of belief, it is in conveying religious messages to humans. We can see this in clothing or clothing, wedding ceremonies, death, spiritual songs, calligraphy, and much more.
- As an educational medium, one can learn about values and knowledge in a more enjoyable way, especially in a school environment. Making it easier for someone to capture the information or messages contained in art.
- As an entertainment medium, it creates a spectacle or shows that attract audiences, examples of which include music, visual, or audio-visual entertainment.
- As a media information serves to provide interesting information. With art, information will be more easily accepted by others.
- As a health media, it functions as a healing medium, for example, music can heal people with autism, or psychological disorders from a traumatic event.
Art can also be said to be challenging to assess and difficult to explain because each person also has a view of beauty and a different view of something according to their respective sizes. Art can be interpreted as a human creation that contains elements of beauty and can also affect the feelings of others. The etymological understanding of art comes from the Sanskrit language, namely Sani, which means worship, offering, and service.
