How high tides and low tides occur?

Sagot :

The gravitational attraction of the moon causes the oceans to bulge out in the direction of the moon. Another bulge occurs on the opposite side, since the Earth is also being pulled toward the moon (and away from the water on the far side). Since the earth is rotating while this is happening, two tides occur each day.
another word for high tides is Spring tides. high tides occur when it's full moon and new moon, when it is a high tide fishermen usually fish one hour after the high tide, why? because fishes feed more when the water is high. High tides occur when the sun and moon are in a line. The gravitational pull of the moon and sun are pulling the water of the earth so the water is high. Low tides occur during first and last quarter of the moon. the sun and moon are perpendicular to the earth (giving respect to the earth). the moon has more of the gravitational pull because it is nearest to the earth.

Hope this helps ;-)
