I think the reason is the people wants to do something that they cannot do. That's why in order for them to feel that they can do something. They will spread fake news.

Or some people just want to do that because they just want (parang trip lang nila)

Example of that is pike what happened on Willie Rebillame's Birthday. People go to the Will Tower hoping that they can get some money (ayuda) from Willie (Wowowin). But a rude person only spread that fake news causes that people became angry on Willie, because of that fake news..
