Answer:
I see myself in pretty much the same place. At least when it comes to the important stuff.
I’ll still be living in the same old town in Norway. It’s where I’ve lived all my life, and I see no reason to move.
My kids will probably have moved out by then, or at least be in the process of moving out. I hope I have been able to raise them well. In any case, they will still be my kids and I will love them regardless of what happens.
My fiancée will hopefully be my wife, if we ever get around to organizing that marriage.
My parents are hopefully still alive and well. They’re not young anymore, but they’re aging well, so I have my hopes up. My sister and her two kids aren’t going anywhere either, I hope.
My closest friends should all still be here, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
As for the less important stuff:
If my career is anywhere near as great as it is now, I’ll be more than happy. I see myself continuing along the same path of specializing in data science and developing software. Perhaps I will have gone into a managerial role by then. I really don’t know.
Moneywise, I should be much better off 20 years from now, but if I’m not, it doesn’t really matter. I’m happy as long as we enough money to not worry about basic needs like food and shelter.
I imagine nothing drastic will have happened with my chess career either. I’m pretty sure I’ll be a much worse player 20 years from now, but that’s perfectly fine.
This may all sound rather dull. My life may not be the most exciting, but I wouldn’t want it any other way. It’s real, it’s down-to-earth and I’m in a happy place.
