In math po, factorization or factoring is the breaking
apart of a polynomial into a product of other smaller polynomials. If
you choose, you could then multiply these factors together, and you
should get the original polynomial
STEPS IN FACTORING:
1.) Check for the GCF first.
2.) Multiply the quadratic term and the constant term.
3.) Write down all the factors of the result, in pairs.
4.) Find the pair that adds to produce the coefficient of the linear term.
5.) Break up the linear term into two terms, using the numbers from Step 4 as the coefficients.
6.) Group the four terms into two sets of two.
7.)Find the GCF for each set and factor it out.
8.) Find the GCF of the two new terms.
