Chromosomes are located within our cells. These are composed of DNA and proteins. These determine how we will look, even our gender.
There are two sex chromosomes, The X and the Y Chromosomes
Egg cells contains two X chromosome, while the sperm cell contains 1 X Chromosome and 1 Y Chromosome.
The Y chromosome determines the gender of an individual.
Thus when an egg cell is fertilized by a sperm cell carrying a Y chromosome, this will result to a male zygote.
